A. Finding a good window is not as easy as it might seem, if you looked at one hundred different windows you might not even be able to tell the difference. Most windows today are made of vinyl, they either from side to side, or open up and down, almost all of them tilt in to clean and to the average person they all look the same.  When considering a window there are a few things you can look at to assure that you are getting a well made window.  The first thing is to use a reputable contractor.  If the company has been around for more than 15 years chances are that they take care of their customers.  If the best window in the world is not installed properly it will not give you the benefits that a new window should.

Q. How much should a replacement window cost?

A. The bottom line is that very little of the cost of a new window are the windows themselves; you will see windows that sell for as little as $300.00 installed and these are usually mass produced windows installed by box companies or contractors who work from their home.  On the other hand you may see windows that cost $2,000.00 installed and these are usually sold by large companies that have huge advertising costs and have to mark up the products in order to cover the costs.  The cost of your windows will vary based on the company you choose. If they are less than $400.00 you are not paying enough if they are more than $800.00 you are paying too much.
